  • 'Modern Family' creator joins Judd Apatow, Seth MacFarlane in condemning Fox News

Joining in the chorus was also Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan, who likewise made it clear that he stands with MacFarlane - and against Fox, despite the fact that 20th Century Fox Television produces his long-running sitcom.

In a tweet Monday, Levitan - the Emmy-winning creator of the ABC comedy - said he was joining MacFarlane in saying "I'm disgusted to work at a company that has anything whatsoever to do with Fox News".

Levitan added: "Fox Studio has been a wonderful home for most of my career - so many incredible people there who share the concerns about @Fox News but aren't in a position to speak out".

Public figures associated with 21st Century Fox are taking a cue from producer Seth MacFarlane and speaking out against Fox News, the media company's conservative news subsidiary. "But I too can not condone the support their news division promotes toward the immoral and abusive policies and actions taken by this current administration toward immigrant children", Feig tweeted.

Levitan, 56, pointed to comments by host Laura Ingraham that child-detention centers were "essentially summer camps". Last November, he switched agencies from WME to CAA, as he started negotiations on a potential new overall deal with Fox TV.

The stars are coming after Fox News.

Apatow also spoke up on Monday. Calling it "fringe s--", MacFarlane claimed Carlson was asking his fans to "blindly obey" the network.

Fox News and its entertainment divisions may be operated by separate companies in the future.

The move is a concerning one as other major media players have signaled dissatisfaction with working for companies who have parent organizations affiliated with Fox News. Variety just shared a statement provided by his agent, UTA's Jay Sures: "I have great respect and admiration for Dana Walden, Gary Newman, Peter Rice, and everyone at 20th Century Fox Studios who have all treated me so well for nearly 2 decades".

"I have made two films for 20th Century Fox and love the people in the movie and TV divisions", Feig tweeted on Tuesday. "But I too can not condone the support their news division promotes toward the immoral and abusive policies and actions taken by this current administration toward immigrant children".
