  • Donald Trump withdraws endorsement of G7 joint statement, slams Trudeau

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she finds President Donald Trump's tweet disavowing a common statement after the Group of Seven summit in Canada "sobering" and "a little depressing".

According to Trump, it's not fair that other countries like Canada and India "have trade barriers against our farmers".

President Donald Trump's top economic adviser says Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "really kind of stabbed us in the back" when Trudeau said at the end of the Group of Seven summit that Canada wouldn't be pushed around by the USA and its trade tariffs.

Theresa May has criticised the tariffs and also opposes Mr Trump's call for Russian Federation to be readmitted to the group of leading industrialised nations.

Trump threatened that the USA will stop trading with countries that maintain tariffs on his country's exports, particularly in the agricultural sector, and that he has launched the idea of eliminating all trade duties, because "ultimately that's what you want. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!"

The UK is thought to have concerns about the European Commission's proposed package of 2.8 billion euro (£2.46 billion) of tariffs on United States goods.

All of his answers tracked with what he's said in the past, but they set Trump off.

The US leader repeated once more that it would be a good idea for Russian Federation to return to the G7 and insisted that at the summit, some have liked the idea.

"Some people like the idea of bringing Russian Federation back in".

The US president argued that the invasion and annexation happened a long time ago and that a G8 (G7 plus Russia) makes more sense than the G7.

'The View' Sparks Backlash for Calling out Roseanne Barr
The 59-year-old comedian also spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, and implied that Barr wanted her series to be cancelled .

"I think it would be an asset to have Russian Federation back in, I think it would be good for the world, I think it would be good for Russian Federation, I think it would be good for the United States, I think it would be good for all the countries of the current G7".

"Why are we having a meeting without Russian Federation being in the meeting?"

"We're looking for peace in the world, we're not looking to play games".

Russian Federation was thrown out of the group in 2014 over the annexation of Crimea.

"We condemn the attack using a military grade nerve agent in Salisbury, United Kingdom".

She said that "before any such conversations can take place" about readmitting Russian Federation, the Kremlin "needs to change its approach". Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., also called Trudeau's comments a stab in the back to Trump. Trump asked. "It's up to them, but Russian Federation should be in the meeting".

"I would say that the level of relationships is a 10 - we have a great relationship".

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad-faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door", he told Trump's favourite television network. "At previous meetings this has been done in a number of ways, such as a chairman's statement".

Instead, a chairman's statement from the host Mr Trudeau could be produced, setting out what was discussed and where agreement had been impossible.
