Sarri took over Chelsea from Antonio Conte and brought in Jorginho from Napoli and the report claims that the Blues want to revamp their defence with David Luiz looking like a player that could be sold.

The Merseyside club could avoid taking a risk on the Colombian this summer by switching attention to someone who is proven in the Premier League and could make an instant impact at Goodison Park.

Sarri has given his first interview since joining Chelsea, speaking to official club app The 5th Stand.

"The players have to enjoy themselves".

"If he creates a team as entertaining to watch as Napoli were under his stewardship then Chelsea's fans are in for a treat", he said on Twitter.

He'll do well in the Premier League.

Maurizio Sarri believes Chelsea only need "one or two adjustments" to play his style of football this season and added that he is relishing the prospect of competing against Europe's best coaches in the Premier League.

Chelsea had 38 players out on loan last season, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham, Michy Batshuayi and Kurt Zouma.

"I think Chelsea are a good team", Sarri told Chelsea TV.

"It will be for me very exciting to play against Guardiola, Pochettino, Mourinho, Klopp and the others".

"What I can achieve at Chelsea?".

Sarri's first game at the helm is scheduled to be the July 23 friendly against Perth Glory in Western Australia.

The Serie A giants are keen to get a nod from Morata and his camp before opening negotiations with Chelsea. Jorginho is an Italy worldwide but lived in Brazil until he was 15, when he moved to Italy.

"But [his] most important quality is that he's very quick in the mind so he has the ability to move the ball very quickly".

Sarri's comments came as Conte, 48, issued a statement through England's League Managers' Association. He was replaced by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti in May with the Naples club seeking to end Juventus' dominance in the league.

Antonio Conte has released a statement thanking Chelsea's staff for their "hard work and support" during his time at the club.
