  • Elon Musk hits massive blunt in live interview

The latest drop in Tesla's stock has caused Consumer Edge analyst James Albertine to call for the company to appoint another senior leader to support Elon Musk.

"Many people ask if Elon is still the best CEO for Tesla".

Running Tesla is his "hardest" job, he told Rogan. They have fallen about 18% since Musk's tweet on taking the company private on 7 August.

Along with his electric vehicle company, Musk heads up space exploration firm Space X, tunnel construction firm The Boring Company, and Neuralink, which works on augmenting human brains with artificial intelligence.

Marijuana consumption is legal in the state of California, where the podcast was hosted.

"Weed is not helpful for productivity".

Shortly after smoking, Musk looks at his phone and laughs, telling Rogan he was getting texts from friends asking why he was smoking weed during the interview.

McCain Lies In State at US Capitol
Sinatra's My Way paid tribute to a politician who was known for following his own path based on his personal principles. USA TODAY is providing extended coverage of McCain's memorial events, including Thursday's private service in Phoenix.

In July he shocked investors by announcing on Twitter that he had funding secured to take his auto firm Tesla private.

The interview touched on one of Musk's favorite themes: ways to revolutionize transportation.

But he doesn't plan to pursue the idea anytime soon, as he is too occupied with Tesla, SpaceX and other projects. They both giggled and Musk said, "That would be great". That said, his experience was probably not a good fit for the electric auto maker's startup culture, which is characterized by its flat organizational structure and its fast pace.

"Maybe it will be successful, maybe it won't", Musk said.

"The interesting thing about an electric plane is that you want to go as high as possible, but you need a certain energy density in the battery pack, because you have to overcome gravitational potential energy", Musk said.

Musk said his efforts to merge the human brain with machines are making progress. Neuralink may have something interesting to announce in a few months, Musk told Rogan.

The billionaire spent two and a half hours on a podcast discussing everything from artificial intelligence and its impact on humankind to flamethrowers and social media. "It's easy to demonize people, you're usually wrong about it. People are nicer than you think".
