Their 17-game losing streak was over.

The second-year back out of Pittsburgh is having a phenomenal game.

There is a first time for everything, and for the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, that first came in the way of a 21-21 tie in the 2018 regular-season opener at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland Sunday.

But the Browns, being the Browns, couldn't finish the job.

Coming off a 0-16 season, they became the first team not to win with a plus-5 turnover differential or better since Arizona was beaten at Atlanta in 2012.

Very Le'Veon Bell-esque numbers, if I do say so myself. God help us all if the Browns are 1-0-1 in a week's time.

Bell isn't happy with Pittsburgh placing him on the franchise tag for the second consecutive season, and he has continued his holdout.

Cleveland's defense then forced a punt before Taylor connected with Gordon, who was playing in his first opener since 2012, made a gorgeous leaping catch in the corner over Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton.

"Tyrod got hit way too much", left guard Joel Bitonio said. We didn't get the job done. Rookie cornerback Mike Hughes, the Vikings' first-round pick out of UCF, added an interception return for a touchdown in his National Football League debut. Unfortunately for the Browns, they weren't able to cash in on either of the picks. "We just didn't make them". The defensive end was flagged for a violation of the rule that prohibits a player from landing on the quarterback with most or all of his body weight. He caught two passes for 70 yards and lost a fumble in fifth-year head coach Jay Gruden's first opening-week win.

"Leash?" Jackson said. "We are trying to win".

Cleveland gave up seven sacks and committed 11 penalties, including four on false starts. But the reaction from rapper Wiz Khalifa is likely how a fair amount of fans felt after the game, as he just wants to see Bell get paid and back on the field.

Absolutely. I'll never celebrate a tie, but I will accentuate the positive. They have finished in the top 10 in most penalty yards in a season just once since 2013. Considering the rain, the stats look okay- 23-of-41 for 335 yards and one touchdown- until you consider the three interceptions and two fumbles he accrued.

Confusion arose because Gordon had missed a good part of training camp and preseason as part of his treatment for substance abuse. Gordon has also been battling a hamstring issue.

The Browns revamped offensive line, with rookie Desmond Harrison at left tackle, surrendered - sacks.

Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry and the biggest offseason Browns signing in at least a decade, has gone on record as being someone who isn't down for the B.S. with this HBO Hard Knocks rousing speech.

"It's the nature of the game", DeCastro said. "Our team has got to get better".

The last time a Browns game ended in a tie was November 19, 1989 against Kansas City, a 10-10 final. The Steelers had six turnovers in the game and kicker Chris Boswell missed a game-winning 42-yard field goal in the overtime.

The beleaguered Browns have two of those losses and now the tie. On a pass intended for Antonio Brown on the right side, Ward layed out and swiped the ball in traffic at the Steelers' 10. His only catch was a game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.
