  • Incoherent’ Broncos QB hit by vacuum tube in bizarre break-in

Denver Broncos' back-up quarterback Chad Kelly had a history of off-field issues before making the NFL.

"We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning". "When the team has a get-together, (it) is always a good thing". But obviously disappointed in Chad.

"We're going to look into this, and look into it very seriously, because the charges are very, very serious and we understand that", Elway said. "We will look into this and then make decisions as we go".

He has since posted a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to have a court appearance on Wednesday morning. He was in court at 9:30 a.m. local time.

According to a press release from the Englewood (Colo.) Police Department, Kelly illegally entered a home and was later chased out by the resident. The woman yelled out to a man in the house, identified as Marco Torres, who confronted the intruder, hit him with a vacuum tube and chased him out of the house. The homeowners showed police surveillance video of a man wearing dark trousers, a white long sleeve shirt with a brown vest and a red scarf around his neck entering the front door. The homeowner claims both doors were locked, but police found no signs of forced entry.

The 24-year old was taken to Arapahoe County Jail and according to the release, the investigation is ongoing. He is now subject to discipline from the National Football League and his job in Denver may be in jeopardy.

Kelly was drafted by the Broncos in the seventh and final round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the last pick, the so-called "Mr".

Yikes. Kelly didn't look THAT wonked out in his mugshot, although perhaps he's smiling because he's not entirely aware of the full circumstances of what happened?

Kelly, the nephew of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, was arrested in December 2014 on charges of trying to fight nightclub bouncers and police officers after he and a friend refused to leave a bar in Buffalo, New York. Still, the team isn't happy about its second-year quarterback's situation. He later played at Ole Miss. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in that case.
