The driver then suddenly yanks the wheel hard to the left and the bus veers onto incoming traffic, striking a auto before breaking through the rails of the bridge crossing the Yangtze River, in the southwest city of Chongqing.

The bus was retrieved from the river on Wednesday, and investigators were able to obtain the footage from the vehicle's surveillance system.

Reports in the local media cited by EuroNews say that the woman missed her bus stop and, when she realized it, immediately asked the driver to pull over so she could get off.

Deadly road accidents are common in China, where traffic regulations are often flouted or go unenforced.

Due to the loss of control of the bus, which was travelling on a bridge in China, the bus swerved widely and hit a vehicle before crashing through the bridge railing and plunging around 160 feet (that's just just 20 feet shorter than the recently-inaugurated Statue of Unity, by the way) into the river. The footage shows the fight between the driver and the woman.

Rescue teams, including more than 70 salvage vessels, underwater drones and floating cranes, were sent to the site.

Pittsburgh Rabbi: Massacre an 'Attack on America'

The driver refused as there was no bus stop in view, and an argument broke out, soon led to a fist fight.

By Thursday, 13 bodies were found and identified, said the police.

The driver then lost control of the bus.

A police statement said a female passenger started quarrelling with the driver after she missed her stop.

"If the lady didn't physically attack the driver, would this accident still happen to Route 22 bus?" one user wrote.

In response, the driver takes a hand off the steering wheel and grapples with the woman for a couple of seconds.
