  • Sarri tells Moses he is free to leave Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Victor Moses and Danny Drinkwater are not in his tactical plans this season, but added that he will rotate his team more during the frantic festive fixture schedule.

Just like Moses, there have been suggestions that the Englishman could depart Chelsea at the start of 2019, but Sarri insisted that will not be the case for Loftus-Cheek.

Drinkwater, a £30 million signing from Leicester City in the summer of 2017, has not featured in any competition for Chelsea since the Community Shield in August and Sarri suggested that the England worldwide will not be playing for him any time soon.

"As I said before it was very important to have him on the bench".

"It is my work, I think".

"Moses is more suitable to play like a wing-back, rather than like a winger or a full-back".

Last week against Burnley, Chelsea proved they can manage without Eden Hazard, scoring four goals with four different goalscorers and will have to do so again for at least a half with the Belgian not fully fit.

Zaha is the Premier League's most significant "MVP", the player on whom his team relies most, and particularly in the early stages he caused havoc in a Chelsea defence that can look shaky.

But as the domestic schedule intensifies in December, Sarri said he expects that situation to change.

"I am very happy with the results and my players, but I know on the pitch we need to improve", he told Sky Sports.

Sarri, who replaced Antonio Conte as head coach in July, will be seeking to extend his own streak next Sunday against Everton, following Thursday's Europa League clash at BATE Borisov in Belarus. I have to look also at the minutes in the national teams. If I need to cover immediately the lost ball we need to have good positions over the line in the defensive line.

The current Blues manager will presumably target the Carabao Cup or the Europa League as competitions that Chelsea FC can win in the current campaign.

However, the club's manager has insisted that his team must be defensively organised if his players are to pull out anything significant by the end of this season.

Chelsea's game against Crystal Palace can be viewed by United Kingdom residents on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League, channels 401 and 402 respectively on Sky and channels 501 and 502 respectively for Virgin Media users.
