Ex-Trump campaign chairman Manafort lied to Federal Bureau of Investigation - special counsel

Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort lied repeatedly to authorities after striking a plea deal with prosecutors and pledging to cooperate, exposing him to a potentially lengthy prison term, U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller said. The pardon hope may very well be what Manafort's driving at and it could occur, but we also have to ask what all of this does for Mueller.
Mueller revealed the charge in a court filing Monday that indicated Manafort has violated the plea deal he made in the investigation by lying numerous times to the FBI.
Attorneys for Manafort wrote in the filing that Manafort "has provided information to the government in an effort to live up to his cooperation obligations".
Manafort, 69, worked for the Trump presidential campaign for five months in 2016 and was in charge when Mr Trump clinched the Republican party nomination.
The move signals a return to the acrimonious relationship Manafort has had with the special counsel's office since his indictment a year ago. Mueller's joint statement indicates that new sentencing dates are to be set "without delay", despite Manafort's claim that he has been telling the truth.
In the latest filing, Mueller's team said Manafort "committed federal crimes" by lying about "a variety of subject matters" even after he agreed to truthfully co-operate with the investigation.

PH, China seek cooperation pact on oil deal within a year
Under joint efforts from both sides, bilateral relations moved back to the right track of friendly cooperation ever since. In a joint press confernece, Xi assured that China and the Philippines are close neighbours with a wide exchange history.
It's a dire turn for Manafort, who was accused of witness tampering, pleaded guilty to a range of charges laid by Mueller and finally agreed to cooperate to avert the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.
Russian Federation denies US allegations it hacked Democratic Party emails and ran a disinformation campaign, largely on social media.
As part of his plea agreement, Manafort also agreed to forfeit five properties he owned in NY, including his apartment at Trump Tower and his sprawling estate in the Hamptons.
It did not give details of what Manafort allegedly lied about.
When he was last seen in public, in a Virginia federal courtroom about a month ago, Manafort was in a wheelchair and suffering from a health issue similar to gout. It's not clear how Monday's development might affect his situation there.
The breakdown in the plea deal means that Manafort will most likely face a harsher sentence - both for the crimes he pleaded guilty to in Washington and for his conviction by a jury in August in a separate case in Virginia for bank and tax fraud.

But we decide to give him this continuity, which I think it is clear that it has improved him by his physical qualities. And you want continuity and a three-match-in-a-row and you have to break the continuity and start everything again.
