  • New York police hunt man who dropped engagement ring down drain during wedding proposal

Police in New York City are trying to reunite a man with his engagement ring after he dropped it down a grate while popping the question this week.

First he got down on one knee, then he was sent scrambling on his hands and knees.

According to the New York City Police Department, the man was proposing to his girlfriend just before midnight on Friday, when he dropped the ring.

Comments by netizens have been largely positive, with many saying this is what they love about NY, and others praising the city's police force.
