  • YouTube Rewind 2018 now the most disliked You Tube video of all time

YouTube is still running damage control since it released its 2018 YouTube Rewind that was immediately met with overwhelming dislike and ire from all reaches of the internet, quickly becoming the most disliked video in YouTube history.

Every year, YouTube releases "Rewind", a cameo-filled video that is meant to celebrate the past year on the platform, through the eyes of the company. The YouTube Rewind video hasn't been liked by a lot of people because many creators were left out, including PewDiePie, who enjoys the largest subscriber base on the platform - at least, for an individual creator. It features the top YouTubers and the video usually gets hundreds of millions of views. Part of it is due to Bieber fans, sensing a chance to redeem "Baby", disliking the "Rewind" video en masse. Those views have (so far) yielded 2.1 million likes and 10 million dislikes. The Rewind 2018 video had only received 2.1 million likes which gives it a dislike ratio of nearly 84%.

Jurgen Klopp reveals which player left him speechless in win over Napoli

Washington Post in its report pointed out that YouTube's Rewind is supposed to celebrate top moments on the network in the year. While some are disliking in a conscious attempt remove "Baby" from the bottom spot, many creators and fans say the reason is a difference in perspective between creators, fans, and the company.

One of the major issues with this year's YouTube Rewind, according to prominent members of the YouTube community, is that some of the platform's biggest stars, like PewDiePie, Shane Dawson, and Logan Paul are completely omitted from the video. The video is the complete mashup of the biggest trends of the year on the video streaming platform. We also learned that creating content can be really hard and this underscores our respect and admiration for YouTube creators doing it every day. Huge YouTube moments, like the popular livestreamed this past August, were also ignored.
