The 76ers' All-Star appears to be on track to ruin another National Basketball Association franchise this season after he "aggressively challenged" Sixers coach Brett Brown over his role in Philadelphia's offense, ESPN reported, citing sources.

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Jimmy Butler has aggressively challenged coach Brett Brown on his role in the offense, complicating an already tenuous chemistry among the team's Big Three hierarchy, league sources told ESPN.

The Jimmy Butler-Timberwolves saga had gently settled after his move to the Philadelphia 76ers, but it seems like Butler is taking trouble everywhere he goes.

Less than two months ago, Butler forced a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the 76ers after a series of public criticisms, run-ins with team-mates and management and trade demands.

Right now the Philadelphia 76ers are 25-14 and hold the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Erdogan: US must plan pullout from Syria carefully

Butler missed the team's last game against the Phoenix Suns as well as their practice on Friday with an upper respiratory infection, and is now listed as questionable for their next game against the Dallas Mavericks. For the Sixers, Brown and Butler, it may be even more hard when Simmons and Embiid tend to dominate the ball as well.

League sources told ESPN that they are anxious about Butler's ability to fit in with the Sixers and if he can stay with the team long-term.

Butler's specific concerns have centered around his role in Philly's free-flowing offense, as he wants to run more pick-and-roll sets and isolation. The 76ers are now 11th in the National Basketball Association in offensive rating, and yes the team needs to find more ways to get Butler involved on offense, but that's going to take some time. Butler's preference has been to sign a more lucrative deal to remain with the Sixers, but it's clear that there are issues to be worked out before that comfort level fully exists.

"What's most - by a mile - lately, on my mind, is the growth of a team, and the cohesion and the ability to share in somebody else's success", Brown said after Tuesday's victory over the LA Clippers. "It's a basketball play".
