IBM's Q System One is the world's first commercial quantum computer

IBM has worked hard to develop a quantum computing system which promises to deliver better solutions than the conventional computers.

All-in-one: Many quantum machines that use superconducting circuits, an approach favored by IBM, are a smorgasbord of wires connecting various electronic devices to a cryostatic cooling chamber that contains the quantum chip.

As part of the agreement, ExxonMobil becomes the first energy company to join the IBM Q Network, a worldwide community of Fortune 500 companies, startups, academic institutions and national research labs working to advance quantum computing and explore practical applications for science and business.

Called as "IBM Q System One", the computer has been created to employ quantum computing principles (albeit in their initial phases) and could be used by businesses and individuals for their own uses.

The integrated quantum computing system works very similar to the traditional computers.

There's no news on how much the system will cost, but companies and research organisations will be able to pay to use it via IBM's cloud, with Exxon Mobile and CERN among those already signed up.

"The IBM Q System One is a major step forward in the commercialization of quantum computing", the Director for IBM Research, Mr. Arvind Krishna said. The company noted that a commercial Q Quantum Computation Centre would be opened soon in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2019.

UNHCR examining Saudi woman Qunun's asylum bid as family due in Bangkok
An airline security official reported seeing her dragged out of the airport with her mouth, hands, and feet bound with duct tape. The ultra-conservative Saudi kingdom has always been criticized for imposing some of the world's toughest restrictions on women .

The system was developed alongside the Map Project Office, a United Kingdom industrial and interior design studio and Universal Design Studio and it rests in an air-tight environment that is enclosed by thick borosilicate glass. For example, future applications for quantum computing may include untangling the complexity of molecular and chemical interactions leading to the discovery of new medicines, or finding and developing new materials for automotive application through quantum chemistry.

This will be the first time when quantum computers will be available outside of research labs.

IBM has unveiled its first standalone quantum computer designed for scientific and commercial use.

. Instead, it comes in a futuristic, nine-foot-tall and nine-foot wide case of half-inch thick borosilicate glass that reminds us of the cylindrical design of the 2013 Mac Pro.

The replica of Q System One will be introduced at CES 2019 on January 8.

Classical computation to provide secure cloud access and hybrid execution of quantum algorithms.

"A series of independent aluminum and steel frames unify, but also decouple the system's cryostat, control electronics, and exterior casing, helping to avoid potential vibration interference that leads to "phase jitter" and qubit decoherence", it said. IBM is yet in the early quantum computing development process.

This design was specifically built to minimize interferences from ambient noises, temperature changes and electromagnetic waves.
