It comes eight months after Meghan joined the royal family by marrying Prince Harry last May.

The Queen has passed on two patronages to Meghan, relinquishing her formal connection with the National Theatre after 45 years, and with the Association of Commonwealth Universities following more than three decades.

Meghan, who is a big animal lover, will also be patron of animal charity The Mayhew.

Now while you can't take this for gospel truth, old wives tales about pregnancy have been circulating for years and although there's no proof they have any real bearing on things, people are interested all the same and royal fans are pretty much obsessed with Meghan Markle's bump.

In her first high-profile, solo charity project, Meghan collaborated with women at the Hubb Community Kitchen in West London on a charity cookbook that quickly became a bestseller. Her Majesty The Queen was previously patron of two of these organizations - The National Theatre and The Association of Commonwealth Universities. Markle stopped by Smart Works on Thursday for her first public appearance at the organization.

On Wednesday, The National Theatre accidentally let some important Meghan Markle news slip.

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, will become patron of four charities, Kensington Palace has announced.

Two of the patronages Meghan now has formerly belonged to the Queen and have been handed over to the Duchess.

Meghan, 37, will start the new roles immediately.

Ruma had been out of work for nearly a year before securing part-time role and is set to come back to the charity for a set of new outfits from the Dressing Room for her new job.

Markle selected Mayhew, an animal welfare charity that works to better the lives of animals and people to better communities in London, and those overseas internationally. As well as a double major in theatre and worldwide relations from Northwestern University, Her Royal Highness volunteered at a performing arts after school programme for children in underprivileged school districts in Los Angeles.

She started campaigning for gender equality at an early age, writing to the then U.S. first lady, Hillary Clinton, at the age of 11, lamenting a washing-up liquid's TV ad strapline: "Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans". Her focus: the importance of education, particularly for women.
