Russian attorney who met with Trump, Jr. indicted in unrelated case

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating whether the Trump campaign co-ordinated with Russian Federation during the presidential campaign, has focused on the Trump Tower meeting and called some participants before a federal grand jury.
Veselnitskaya, who is believed to be in Russian Federation, could not be immediately reached for comment. Federal prosecutors have accused her of submitting to the court an "intentionally misleading declaration in opposition to a government motion" in regards to that case.
Veselnitskaya attended a 2016 meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner that was described to Trump Jr.as part of a Russian government effort to help his father's campaign.
Veselnitskaya's more well-known role is that of the Russian attorney who met with Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort and other members of the Trump presidential team at Trump Tower in the summer of 2016.
That meeting has become a central focus of the Mueller probe.
According to the indictment, (via The New York Times) Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman accuses Veselnitskaya of attempting to interfere with the money laundering investigation of a prominent Russian businessman and his investment firm. Prosecutors claimed that Prevezon helped a Russian criminal organization launder money through high-end real estate, including in NY.
Although the indictment against Veselnitskaya - suspiciously unsealed on the eve of Trump's first-ever primetime national address - has absolutely nothing to do with the July 2016 Trump Tower meeting, that has not stopped the USA president's critics on social media and in Congress from declaring that Trump is finished, this time, for sure, yet again.
When the U.S. government asked the Russian government for help in investigating the Prevezon case, the Russian government refused and sent over a memo that sought to exonerate Prevezon.
Magnitsky was arrested in Russian Federation and died in custody in 2009.
The U.S. and Russian Federation do not share an extradition treaty.
Prevezon Holdings was accused of participating in a tax fraud scheme that laundered $230m (£180m). Instead, according to the government, Veselnitskaya helped draft the report "in secret coordination" with a senior Russian prosecutor.
The indictment, which was dated December 20, concerns a $230 million tax fraud case that has shadowed U.S. However, sharing details of the request and involving a defense attorney in the crafting of its response can undermine the prosecution's evidence and potentially put witnesses at risk. A third-party had indicated Veselnitskaya had dirt on Hillary Clinton.
'The Crown prosecutor of Russian Federation met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russian Federation and would be very useful to your father, ' according to the email. Veselnitskaya wrote, however, that she "had been told" Trump Jr.
When everyone is fit, it's better. "Of course, we have to play the second game [and] we will take it seriously". "They know. It was ideal for the rhythm for Kevin (De Bruyne ), (Ilkay) Gundogan, Nico (Otamendi), Kyle (Walker ) - flawless ".
