After pledging $2 billion to alleviate security fears in the UK, Huawei has now stated that it would accept full supervision from the European Union (EU) should it be allowed to continue pushing its 5G network.

'Enhancing our software engineering capabilities is like replacing components on a high-speed train in motion.

However, that doesn't mean Poland should exclude Huawei from 5G network builds.

The letter follows concerns raised a year ago by the Huawei Cyber Security Evaluation Centre (HCSEC) in its annual report.

According to a report by Reuters, the company has previously offered & constructed security labs in Britain & Germany with the intention of rebuilding confidence in the brand and showing that the company's equipment & consumer electronics do not contain back doors or spyware for the Chinese intelligence service.

"Recently Huawei has been under constant attack by some countries and politicians", Huawei vice president and representative to the EU Abraham Liu said in a speech in Brussels.

Huawei, the global networks market leader with annual sales exceeding US$100 billion, faces worldwide scrutiny over its ties with the Chinese government and suspicion that Beijing could use its technology for spying. It is a complicated process and will take at least three to five years to see tangible results.

China is livid and strongly demands the return of the executive, and has responded by arresting two Canadians in China on charges of posing a danger to Chinese security, A third Canadian arrested on drug charges has seen his case suddenly retried and the sentence increased from a jail term to the death sentence.

"For example, yesterday, the USA ambassador to the European Union, Mr. (Gordon) Sondland, says someone in Beijing can remotely run a certain auto off the road on 5G network and kill the person that's in it". Australia, New Zealand and Japan have all banned Huawei as a wireless network provider over similar security concerns.

Complicating the situation is the Canadian arrest of a top Huawei executive sought on an extradition request by the U.S. And in January, DOJ unsealed a suite of charges against Huawei and its chief financial officer, who faces extradition to the United States for violating sanctions on Iran.
