  • Actress Lori Laughlin and husband designer Mossimo Giannulli arrive

Parents spent anywhere from $200,000 to $6.5 million to guarantee their children's admission, officials said.

According to TMZ, 7 federal agents arrived at Huffman's home on Tuesday morning, guns drawn, and demanded she come out and surrender. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 29.

"Desperate Housewives" actress Felicity Huffman and "Full House" actress Lori Loughlin were among the 50 people charged in the "Operation Varsity Blues" criminal investigation.

Other prominent parents charged by the Boston U.S. attorney's office include Felicity Huffman, the actor who starred in "Desperate Housewives"; Gordon Caplan, the co-chairman of global law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher; and Bill McGlashan Jr., who heads a buyout investment arm of private equity firm TPG Capital. The 54-year-old actress' travel has been restricted to the United States and Canada, as she is filming Garage Sale Mystery, a film series for Hallmark, in Vancouver.

A judge said on Tuesday that jailed actress Felicity Huffman was eligible for release on $250,000 bond. Giannulli was released Tuesday after posting a $1 million bond.

Experts told The Post on Wednesday that while a hefty donation won't automatically result in admission to an elite school, it can be a crucial factor in the decision-making process.

Defendants with high school-aged children who were applying to college allegedly "conspired with others to use bribery and other forms of fraud to facilitate their children's admission to colleges and universities" in MA and elsewhere including Yale, Stanford, University of Texas, University of Southern California and UCLA.

The American was up a break in the first set and also ahead in the tie-break, but he was unable to deny the world number one. Coric, the 11th seed, was beaten by fellow Croatian Ivo Karlovic, the 40-year-old serving 20 aces in a 6-4 7-6 (7-2) win.

He was charged Tuesday along with almost 50 other people and faces conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering counts.

The most far-reaching college admissions plot ever prosecuted, revealed on Tuesday by federal investigators, provides a window into how wealth and power operate in American society, progressives say. "They anxious their daughters are as stupid as their mothers", Kellyanne Conway said in a social media post Tuesday.

The unsealed documents allege that Huffman and her husband, William H. Macy, "made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000...to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter".

One of the ways the alleged cheating scheme worked is that students would fake learning disabilities and apply and in many cases receive extra time on ACT and SAT tests and be allowed to take the tests one on one with a proctor. Huffman allegedly discussed a similar scheme for her younger daughter but ultimately decided against it.

According to the AP news agency, the documents say a co-operating witness met with Huffman and husband Macy at their home in LA.

A source said that Huffman and other defendants had word in recent days that they might face arrest.

In that case, several people were charged previous year with securities fraud for artificially inflating the value of stocks.
