  • Why the Mueller Report Will Not End Donald Trump's Predicament

Could the president known for his turbulent relationship with the media and strident criticism of negative news stories become a free-speech savior?

Asked if he believed the President obstructed justice, Mr Nadler said, "Yes, I do".

"For the Democrats to interview in open hearings a convicted liar & fraudster, at the same time as the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea, is perhaps a new low in American politics and may have contributed to the 'walk.'" Trump tweeted Sunday.

"The fact of the matter is that Cohen has no evidence of collusion and no evidence of obstruction of justice".

"If you keep defending us, we'll keep defending you", he told Trump.

Past administrations, both Democratic and Republican, have said a president's ability to conduct foreign affairs requires an ability to shield both internal discussions and worldwide negotiations from the reach of Capitol Hill.

Trump is showing increasing signs of stress at being surrounded.

"There is no collusion", Trump said Saturday in a speech to CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference).

"So now we're waiting for a report, and we'll find out. who we're dealing with".

"We're waiting for a report by people who weren't elected", he told a crowd of cheering conservatives.

And Trump mocked former Attorney General Jeff Session's recusal from the Russian Federation probe using a southern drawl.

Anger over 'forced' video of Indian pilot amid new Kashmir deaths
It is hoped his return could defuse tensions between the two nuclear powers and avoid another war between India and Pakistan . The rivals have fought two of their three wars over Kashmir since their independence from British rule in 1947.

Trump fueled suspicions past year about his ties with Russian Federation when, in a sharp break with standard diplomatic practice, he dismissed top aides for two hours of talks with Putin during their first formal summit, in Helsinki.

"I said, 'Melania, I'm doing something today, I'm doing it because it really has to be done. he's a bad, bad guy", Trump said, arguing that he thought Democrats would welcome the move given their anger at Comey's handling of the Clinton email investigation.

Cohen alleged during his public testimony that Trump had advanced warnings of both the "Trump Tower" meeting and the WikiLeaks release, something that has not been corroborated by public evidence.Warner said that he won't take Cohen at face value - as he's headed to prison later this year after pleading guilty to lying to Congress - but that "Donald Trump doesn't exactly have a great record of telling the truth as well".

The speech - clocking in at more than two hours - also included sharp attacks on former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, former Federal Bureau of Investigation head James Comey, the Democratic Party and those critical of his approach to North Korea. We now know as well, in one of the questions I still am trying to get answered, is that frankly embarrassing meeting between Trump and Putin where on the world stage, the President of the United States kowtowed to the Russian president. William Barr has since been confirmed as attorney general. So far, Mueller has not brought any public charges alleging a criminal conspiracy between the campaign and Russian Federation; the investigation continues.

But his increasingly emotional denunciation of the various legal and political investigations - that are now focusing on his business, his campaign, his transition, his inauguration and his presidency is not giving the impression that he is a President who is confident there will be no charges to answer.

While Monday's request did not include a subpoena, that remains an option.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly and former White House counsel Don McGahn also are likely targets, he said.

Appearing on "Meet the Press", Sen, Mark Warner, D-Va., disagreed with the assertion by his Republican counterpart on the committee that congressional investigators have found nothing "that would suggest there was collusion".

"We need workers to come in, but they've got to come in legally, and they've got to come in through merit", he said. Before you impeach somebody you have to persuade the American public that it ought to happen. "If you look at that first speech, that was very innocent compared to what's happening", Trump said.

"Nancy Pelosi is doing a better job of cautioning them to go slow than I did in 97-98", he said on "America's Newsroom". "And the numbers are going to be even bigger", he said.

Since being appointed special counsel in spring 2017, Mueller has obtained guilty pleas to a range of crimes from mulitple people who worked for Trump or his campaign: Cohen, former national security advisor Michael Flynn, former campaign chair Paul Manafort, ex-campaign and inaugural official Rick Gates, and former foreign policy advisor George Papadopolous.
