(Glenwood) - More Mills County residents are impacted by the floods of 2019.

The weather service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Nemaha County following the report and warns that water levels will rise rapidly in the area.

Forecasters said Saturday that at least five states were still facing the flood threat.

The weather service has issued flood warnings along the Missouri River and its tributaries from southeastern South Dakota to St. Louis in Missouri.

Soil moisture plays an important role too, especially when the ground is frozen.

The storm, which contributed to the deaths of a utility worker in Texas and a Colorado State Patrol officer, dropped heavy rain as it moved east across the central Plains.

Officials from the plant say things are running at 100% now, and have plans in place should flood waters rise.

As forecasters project big spring flooding along the MS, leaders in flood-prone Clarksville are preparing to weather the storm. The deluge pushed some waterways to record levels in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.

In Nebraska, Gov. Pete Ricketts said almost every part of the state is experiencing historic flooding.

"The storms this week have been extremely hard for many of our communities", Noem said in a statement.

Snow, rain and powerful winds are sweeping across the Upper Midwest.

Lori Getter of the Wisconsin Emergency Management spoke with NPR. As of Friday afternoon, flooded roadways coming in and out of the city were closed, leaving the city cut off, according to AP.

With flood waters rising, officials were monitoring for damage at the Cooper Nuclear Station, south of Omaha, which serves about half a million customers. The recent snow melting due to warmer temperatures is causing local creeks and rivers to rise.

Officials in Omaha, Nebraska, and surrounding communities are asking anyone who lives along the Missouri, Platte and Elkhorn rivers to leave their homes.

"Nebraska has experienced historic flooding and extreme weather in almost every region of the state", Ricketts posted in a statement on Twitter.

On Saturday, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts tweeted his praise of fellow Nebraskans.

"The people of Nebraska & across the Midwest, especially the Farmers & Ranchers, are feeling the impacts from severe weather", he tweeted.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland and other low-lying spots.

"You go a couple of miles. you can't make it very far", Arthur said.
