DOJ Statement on AG Barr Summary of Mueller Report

The attorney general added that investigators declined to make a "traditional prosecutorial judgment" on whether Trump obstructed justice and did not conclude - one way or another - whether the president committed an obstruction crime. They pointed to the decision by James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, to harshly criticize Hillary Clinton in 2016 while announcing that he was recommending no charges in the inquiry into her email practices. The Post says the members of Mueller's team believe the evidence they gathered on obstruction was "alarming and significant".
Appointed at the start of the year, Barrtold Congress prior to his December confirmation that "it is the best interest of everyone - the President, Congress, and most importantly, the American people - that this matter be resolved by allowing the Special Counsel to complete his work".
Akerman suggested that in light of these allegations, there is no way that Barr will be allowed to give Congress a redacted version of the Mueller report.
"There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work instead", one US official told the Post.
Barr is planning to release a full, yet redacted, version of Mueller's report by mid-April, possibly sooner.
About 84 percent of USA voters favored making the entire report public, including 75 percent of Republicans, in a Quinnipiac University poll released March 26.
"It was done in a way that minimum redactions, if any, would have been necessary, and the work would have spoken for itself", the official said.
Citing government officials and others familiar with the situation, the Times said some members of Mueller's team believe Barr should have included more of their material in the summary he released on March 24 of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 us presidential campaign.
But House Democrats are moving to subpoena a full, unredacted copy of the report from the Justice Department.
Trump attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani said the frustrations on Mueller's team were coming from "disgruntled" staffers. "As I understand it, the law requires them to", Lazare said. "And they are rabid Democrats who hate the president of United States".
In light of the NYT/WaPo reports, then, it seems more likely than ever Mueller has evidence that complicates both parts of the investigation. "It will bear that out".

I will recommend to the board that he is fined a week's wages, and I will also recommend that that money should go to the fans. Reflecting on the various flashpoints in Glasgow, Gerrard said: "You're playing against a player who loves to antagonise".
"All these questions would be answered by releasing the report", Nadler said to CNN's Manu Raju.
Trump has denied collusion with Russian Federation and obstruction of justice. "There was no obstruction".
Mueller's team is specifically anxious that Barr's letter shaped public opinion. The fact that some have been confiding in recent days to associates is a sign of the level of their distress. "This is the highest level of Presidential Harassment in the history of our Country!" he griped on Twitter, inviting ridicule at the persistence with which he had kept demanding President Obama's birth certificate.
But Collins slammed the chairman for preparing subpoenas for individuals who have been cooperating with the committee, and seeking documents from them that were under control of the White House.
The department said those summaries include secret grand jury information that can not under law be made public.
Barr released his summary of Mueller's findings on March 24.
It is not yet clear if Mueller's full investigative findings will be released publicly.
Boot emphasizes that considering how close-lipped Mueller's team was during the Russian Federation investigation, the fact that they are "now leaking for the first time in 22 months is an indication of how upset they are" and "how seriously" Barr has "blundered".
U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson (L) and Attorney General William Barr attend a First Step Act celebration in the East Room of the White House April 01, 2019 in Washington, DC. "And with respect to Trump-Russia collusion, Bob Mueller has said there are no witches", said Representative John Ratcliffe, a Texas Republican, referring to Trump's repeated labelling of the Mueller investigation as a "witch-hunt". What hadn't been suggested until now-at least by lawmakers-is that Barr may have obstructed justice himself in some way.
Department of Justice guidelines prohibit the indictment of a sitting president, but Schmidt said he hasn't learned enough about Mueller's findings to say whether investigators believe Trump should have been charged.
