‘Spying did occur’ by intelligence agencies on Trump campaign - AG Barr

  • Bill Barr Confirms: Yes, Spying Occurred During the 2016 Campaign and It's a Big Deal

After using the term "spying" - which Trump also has invoked, Barr said: 'But the question is whether it was adequately predicated and I am not suggesting that it wasn't adequately predicated'. He said he wanted to "pull together all the information from the various investigations that have gone on, including on the Hill, and in the department, and see if there are any remaining questions to be addressed".

Barr added, "I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal". Barr and his team at the Justice Department made their own decision to clear the president of criminal wrongdoing. "There were dirty cops", he said.

His review is separate from a Justice Department inspector general investigation into the early days of the FBI's Russian Federation probe, which Barr said he expects to conclude sometime around May or June.

In an interview, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, suggested that this claim is nothing short of alarming.

"The situation that I think is intolerable, and which I'm opposed to, is the current situation we're in", Barr told the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday morning. I want to make sure there was no unauthorized surveillance.

The White House and Republicans have long argued that an alleged anti-Trump bias at the DOJ and FBI, as well as the "Steele Dossier", a salacious report compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele that alleges collusion between the president's campaign and Russian Federation, spurred federal investigations into Trump's ties to Russian Federation during the 2016 election.

Asked by Democratic Sen.

It's always been clear that Barr is far too credulous of these kinds of right-wing conspiracy theories, and on Wednesday, he gave his stamp of approval from the attorney general's office on the unfounded narrative - and the media spread that soundbite far and wide.

Mac works his way up a ladder of increasingly tough enemies culminating in a battle with the titleholder Mr. Star Soldier , developed by Hudson Soft, launched in 1986 as a spiritual successor to Tecmo's Star Force.

Democrats can hardly deny that statement.

Barr said he can't do that, but did promise senators more access to the investigation when it comes to the grand jury material.

'As I said in my confirmation hearing, I am going to be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign during 2016, ' said Barr.

The former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was asked on ABC in May past year if the Federal Bureau of Investigation had indeed snooped on the Trump team. It's a big deal. The FBI had placed confidential informants in direct contact with members of the campaign, according to reports.

And it appears that this is what Attorney General William Barr is doing. "And that new attorney general can also initiate inquiries into the president's political opponents".

The attorney general will release the Mueller report to Congress and the public within the next week.

Some have pointed out that Schiff is undertaking those redactions with Mueller's input, and that this should alleviate concerns. "There is a hunger for that to happen in this country like I've never seen before".
