Hashmi shifted to Lahore

MULTAN: PML-N senior vice president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was shifted to Lahore for treatment after the noted politician suffered brain haemorrhage here on Tuesday.

Dr Waseem Rabani of Nishtar Hospital Multan told APP that the condition of Hashmi was satisfactory after he remained under treatment at ICU of the hospital. However, on the advice of doctors, he was being shifted to Lahore.

Sources said Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharief had arranged for a helicopter to shift Javed Hashmi to Lahore and according to airport officials, the helicopter has left Multan for Lahore.

Dr Waseem Rabani said that 72 hours after brain haemorrhage were important to assess the extent of damage. He said it was curable, however, the duration of complete recovery varied from person to person.
