Windows 10 Anniversary update on the way this summer

Microsoft showed off an example of Westin Hotel bot which helped Skype’s program manager Lilian Rincon book a hotel room in Dublin.CCTV America’s Mark Niu reports from San Francisco. The less popular they are, the less developers are motivated to make apps for Windows devices, reinforcing the vicious cycle. Not only is Microsoft integrating Cortana into Skype, but it also wants more bots available in other communication services, like Slack and Outlook. Bots are smarter than traditional software apps, though, using artificial intelligence to respond to a wider range of commands and in a convenient, conversational way. There will be a single unified store across devices, giving developers new features and consumers a consistent experience, like adding bundles, season passes, and pre-orders to the Windows Store. Microsoft has already worked with big names like NASA and Volvo on demo apps for the device, and hopes developers can soon start building even more applications.Bots are not ideal, however. Take a look at the video below for more details on how they work… Microsoft also has a history of foisting irksome digital assistants on its users, and people still complain bitterly about the company’s well-meaning yet idiotic Windows assistant Clippy. Similarly, Skype also works on those platforms. The feature brings interactive, animated bots to Skype that users can interact with and developers can use to build experiences for their services. Microsoft hasn’t announced whether they’ll partner with an outside company to provide this functionality or if they’ll be creating their own first-party app.Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update will bring a built-in ad blocker for Edge browser that will basically make browser extensions such as Ad Block nearly unnecessary. There are now 270 million devices running the new operating system. The version number represents the year and month of a release – 1607 or 2016, July.In the past, developers found alternatives or simply just switched over to Linux completely, but for somebody like a student who has limited resources, a native Bash shell baked into Windows 10 is a convenience we can’t ignore.
